I’m amazed that after such an earthquake all the buildings were still standing. It just shows how the Japanese know how to build properly.

With all that clacking noise, I almost mistook it for the NYC Subway. I would think it that being on the train as the earthquake occurs is much more nerve-racking than the option of standing on the platform. What was the magnification of the earthquake on the Richter scale?

They are still on the Shinkansen, so it's still a good situation. The worst situation is an earthquake that comes during sleep.
